Ozark City Schools preparing to bring all students back to the classrooms
DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - After pushing their start date back to September 8th, and being the year completely remote.
“Then we moved to October the 5th when we started brining some of our kids back and phasing kids back into school,” said Rick McInturf - Ozark City School Superintendent.
Ozark City Schools is now ready for phase three. Bringing all of their kids back into the classrooms.
This decision was made after their second phase ran smoothly. Students easily adjusted to wearing masks and traveling in one direction in the hallways.
“Where all of students will come back to a four-day week Monday thru Thursday. with Friday being devoted to remoting learning cleaning planning everything like that,” said McInturf.
Although school officials have high ambitions for a return of traditional classroom setting, remote learning will not go away.
“There is a certain amount of concern in our community about returning to a large school population and that is just a fact. so yes, we will continue to support the remote instructional model for as long as necessary,” said McInturf.
Ozark City Schools will begin their next phase on Monday October 26th.
